We support people experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, or overwhelming life challenges. Our mission is simple: guide people from crisis toward hope, help them regain their strength and sense of safety, and support them in moving forward with their lives.

SAPUK is powered solely by volunteers who bring compassion, lived experience, and a shared belief that no one should face their darkest moments alone. We work together to create safe, inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported.

Suicide Awareness Prevention UK (SAPUK) is a dedicated, non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), established in 2016, focused on providing support to individuals dealing with suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Our goal is to guide people from distress toward hope, helping them regain the strength to live their lives to the fullest. We offer various volunteer roles both remote and in-person. In-person roles based in Dewsbury, Blackburn and the surrounding area

We have several admin teams, and depending on your experience, transferable skills, and personal preference, you may be placed in one of the following:

HR Team

SAP Admin Team

Recruitment Team

Semicolon Events Team

Special Assignment Team

Social Media Team

SAPUK provides daily support through an instant messaging service operating from 6 am to 11 pm, Monday to Friday. With over 100 active volunteers, our admin teams play a vital role in keeping the charity organised and running smoothly.

Administrators are essential to SAPUK’s day-to-day operations. In this role, you’ll help with a range of routine tasks that support the wider team, such as handling basic correspondence, keeping records accurate and well-organised, assisting with simple planning or scheduling, and preparing or updating documents when needed. You’ll also work closely with other teams to ensure daily activities run smoothly across the charity.

This is a collaborative role within a supportive environment that fosters a positive, well-organised atmosphere. As you will be handling sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality is extremely important

To be successful in this role, volunteers must have experience in these areas and meet the following essential requirements: 18 years or older UK resident Must have sent a cover letter with the application  Basic administrative skills Good written communication Strong attention to detail Able to handle confidential information responsibly Reliable and able to commit 3–6 hours per week Have own laptop and are comfortable using basic digital tools Team-focused mindset Passionate about mental health Willingness to take on extra responsibilities if required Organised Trustworthy Professional Proactive Understanding of data security and confidentiality protocols
