About this role
The Coordinator plays a key role in enabling people across Leicester and surrounding areas, with no reading skills or very poor skills to learn to read which is often life-changing for them.
The Coordinator will:
- meet and informally assess people who want to improve their basic reading skills (‘Readers’)
- help to interview new Volunteer Reading Coaches
- pair up Reading Coaches and Readers to provide confidential, free 1:1 support
- support reading pairs through phone calls, visits and by providing resources
- liaise with the Literacy Specialist
- attend a monthly meeting of the Management Team
- liaise with existing Coordinators
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or training
- Access to a vehicle
- Driving license
- References needed
- Willing to take a DBS Check
- Age restrictions

Time commitment: a minimum of 1 day a week up to 3 days a week - flexible working times essential.
