About this role
Modern slavery is a massive problem in the UK with 17,004 coming out of slavery last year, and that is the tip of the iceberg! Many of these broken people are also asylum seekers or refugees and end up on the streets surviving homelessness as well as trying to deal with the trauma of surviving exploitation.
Hope at Home train and support hosts across the UK who have a spare room and a loving heart to welcome survivors into their homes. Our hosts are couples, families, singles and retirees who care about the marginalised in society and want to see individuals find freedom. Hope at Home supports hosts throughout the placement and each guest has a support worker who take care of immigration, housing and health. The experience of taking in a survivor of modern slavery can be fulfilling and moving. You may the only person who has ever made your guest feel welcome in this world.
