We’re looking for Fundraising Group Leaders to help run our network of Fundraising Groups  who promote the work of The Children’s Society to local communities and inspire people to take action to transform the lives of young people.

About this role

Fundraising Groups play a vital role in helping us reach our goal of overturning the damaging decline in children’s well-being. By raising awareness of the issues facing young people and organising Fundraising and awareness events they bring the community together while increase the charities profile in the local area.

Fundraising Groups plan their own activities and share responsibilities so, alongside leading the group, activities for this role could include; Event Management, Marketing, Finance (counting and banking money).

This is a great opportunity for an organised, friendly and outgoing person to gain experience of leadership and event management whilst making a real difference to the lives of young people.

All of our Volunteer Fundraising Groups are supported by a Local Relationship Manager, who is on hand to provide information and guidance.

Requirements

To be effective in this role, you will need to be available to volunteer at different times and days if necessary.
This Role is flexible and a commitment of around 5-6 hours per month will be needed, although this time can vary depending on the number and type of events a Fundraising Group decide to host. 

Each Fundraising Group decides where and when to hold events but often these are evenings or weekends. 
The key activities of the role will include: 
Inspiring all the group members to plan and host events in the local area.
Liaising frequently with the local Relationship Manager to keep fellow volunteers up to date with any relevant charity updates and relevant training.  
Ensuring suitable events and activities are planned and conducted safely. Such as ensuring suitable risk assessments are completed and the correct permissions are obtained for events (e.g.bucket collections).
The key activities of the role will include: 

Actively encouraging and supporting new volunteers to join the Fundraising Group when needed. 

Delegating tasks to your volunteer team ensuring that each member feels utilised, valued, supported.
Fundraising Groups can rotate responsibilities or set roles within with the group and nominate individuals to oversee keys areas such as: - Treasurer -  Marketing lead -  Secretary
Your role would be to ensure all key aspects of event management are covered across the group.    
Formal qualifications are not required as full training will be provided.
