About this role
Examples of tasks are outlined below, but can include providing support at supermarket can collections, or helping to prepare and run our fundraising events at Helen Webb House.
Our Volunteer Fundraisers work in a variety of locations across Leicestershire and Rutland, depending on the fundraising activities they choose to be involved in. Due to the nature of these events, there is no ‘regular’ commitment, e.g. one hour once per week, but we would ask that Volunteer Fundraisers support events as often as they are able. You will be informed about upcoming events as far in advance as we are able.
You will be supported in your role by the Charity Manager at Sue Young Cancer Support and any expenses will be reimbursed.
You can get involved in any of the following activities:
§ Help collect money and hand out information leaflets at a supermarket can collection, which are held throughout the year around the city, county and Rutland. This is usually for approx 2 hours at a time with another volunteer.
§ Assisting with fundraising events at Helen Webb House, for example making refreshments or running a stall at a Spring/Summer Fayre etc.
§ Selling raffle tickets at events either at Helen Webb House or elsewhere
§ Selling tickets for events either at Helen Webb House or elsewhere.
§ Sue Young Cancer Support is always looking for new fundraising ideas. Fundraising volunteers will be contacted with opportunities to help out at these.

§ Have a day just for you. Our Volunteer Celebration Event is held once a year usually with a different theme, food, music and other activities
