Voluntary Delivery Person

About this role

This is a long term volunteering role. We’d like to build a team of regular volunteers who can assist us with delivering the magazine. If you can commit 3 or 6 months worth of volunteering time. Please apply! . I’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

The majority of tasks will see you delivering the alert on selected streets. In order to deliver the magazines, you will need to collect copies from our Neighbourhood Support Base at this address:

Neighbourhood Support Base,

Gallards Hill,

Braunstone,

LE3 1QR

Support & Supervision

You will be given an induction at the start of your volunteering and will also receive regular one-to-one support sessions with b inspired’s Communications Worker. This is an opportunity to ask any questions and discuss any concerns you might have.

Support and advice will be offered ‘on the job’ and you may be given the opportunity to take part in formal training, as part of your development in your volunteering role.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all magazines are delivered on time according to the schedule
• Take care to deliver the magazines to the correct streets and door numbers allocated
• Feedback to the Communications Worker once all your magazines have been delivered.

Person Specification and Skills required

• A basic ability to communicate with others; including b inspired staff, volunteers and members of the public. Essential
• Good people skills. Volunteers should be friendly, respectful and patient. Essential
• Reliability. The ability to dedicate some time every other month to delivering the magazine. Essential
• Should be relatively mobile and in reasonable health. The role is likely to involve walking around the estate. (If non driver)  Essential
• Physical stamina. For volunteers who choose to deliver larger quantities of magazines, this may require some lifting and moving of boxes. Desirable
• Good local knowledge of the Braunstone area. Desirable
• Basic map-reading skills. Desirable
