About this role
This is a new role and has been created to help support our Chair in leading Fibromyalgia Friends Together and officer group, and provide a sounding board for the Chair, providing them with advice and guidance. This is a development opportunity for someone who would like to take their first steps toward becoming a Chair or group leader.
Main Duties:
• To stand in for the Chair in their absence and take on their duties whilst they are unavailable
• Support the Chairperson by working closely with them and taking on any tasks delegated to them
• Help The Chair mentor and support other Steering Group members to enable them to fulfil their roles
• In online meetings, help the Chair manage the flow of the meeting including keeping a check on group chat
• Liaise with the Chair in the agenda-setting for each meeting and approve the minutes before they are circulated
• Be completely familiar with the constitution and make sure the Chair is supported in meeting the requirements of the group laid out in them
• Help represent Fibromyalgia Friends Together and promote its work
• Deal with any complaints about the Chair
Requirements
Some experience of being a volunteer would be desirable.
A willingness to take part in free training and development opportunities is important.
Having a friendly and supportive approach to others is also essential.
