About this role
Working in partnership with schools in Leicester and Leicestershire, Anstey Alpacas teaches and supports young people about the various aspects of rearing and caring for livestock as well as growing and producing fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers.
Anstey Alpacas requires a volunteer(s) who will be able to:
· Work with young people from local secondary and special schools
· Assist the young people with any coursework that they may be completing
· Guide the young people in rearing and caring for animals in an outdoor setting
· Assist the young people in growing and producing fruit, vegetables and flowers
Requirements
· An enhanced DBS
· References
· A keen interest in supporting young people
To volunteer on a weekly basis in all weather conditions

There will be times when the weather is against us but the work will still need to be completed. The animals will always need looking after whatever the weather.
For all volunteers to set and lead a positive example to our students.
Appropriate training in Safeguarding can be provided.
Most volunteers give their time for one day each week, 9:30am - 2:30pm
