About this role

The National Garden Scheme raises funds for various healthcare charities, including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Carers Trust and Parkinson’s UK. To find out more visit ngs.org.uk/beneficiaries. The money is mainly raised from opening private gardens to the public.

At local level the charity is run by small teams of volunteers. We raise some additional money by giving talks to local groups, which is also an excellent way of publicising the work that we do.

Leicestershire NGS is looking to recruit extra people who would be willing to take on this role, particularly in the south/east of the county.

Requirements

  • Access to a vehicle
  • Driving license

Although an interest in gardens and gardening is useful it is not essential. Applicants need to be confident speakers and able to operate projectors etc. A laptop is required but other equipment can be provided.
The content of the talk is mainly provided by NGS.
