Sea Cadets – Unit Management Team (Governance & Fundraising)

About this role

Can you spare a few hours per week to join our dedicated team at Loughborough Sea Cadets, where we strive to make a positive impact in our community. We are seeking a passionate and organised individual to join as a trustee on the Unit Management Team (UMT).

The Loughborough Sea Cadets urgently require volunteers to support the Unit Management Team (UMT).

• Part of a team responsible for the wider management and strategic direction of the unit.
• Led by the Chair, supporting as a trustee.
• Working collaboratively with the instructional team to ensure the experience Sea Cadets and Volunteers have is optimal.
• Flexible approach with commitment and attendance, with some roles requiring specific levels of commitment, but role-sharing is possible.
• Support with fundraising initiatives.

Training and support is also available, as are the options for formal National and Internationally recognized qualifications.

In this position, you’l play a crucial role in the smooth running of our Unit. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support the UMT with fundraising efforts plus manage safe, effective and successful sea cadet unit
• Support the UMT in ensuring all unit activities and matters comply with appropriate regulations and Marine Society and Sea Cadet (MSSC) policies.
• Ensuring that all young people and instructors at the unit are engaged in fun and safe activities.
• Attend a regular UMT meeting – usually one hour, monthly or bi-monthly, on a weekday evening.
