About this role
Buswells Lodge Primary School is a primary school for children aged 4-11 in Beaumont Leys, in the north of Leicester.
School governing bodies play a key role in influencing the development of schools and ensuring they are meeting the needs of children. Typically, our governing body meets 4 times a year, usually early evening (in-person). Meetings are approx. 1.5 hours long and time is also required to read supporting papers in preparation for meetings.
You will also be asked to sit on one sub-committee which meets every term, and also be expected to visit the school to see it in action at least once a term during school hours.
The school is particularly looking for volunteers with a finance or education background but all skills and backgrounds will be considered.
Anyone over the age of 18 and living in the UK can apply. No prior knowledge is required and a comprehensive range of training and support is provided. Appointments are subject to successful DBS clearance.
