About this role
Watermead Country Park parkrun takes place at 9am every Saturday morning. It requires 30 volunteers each week to put on a safe event. Roles available are varied and full training is provided. The time commitment is 8.30-10am.
The parkrun is a weekly, timed 5km run or walk around beautiful Watermead Country Park. The start is close to the main car park at the Wanlip end ((Watermead North).
Volunteer roles include – marshal, pre-course set up, timekeeper, barcode scanner, funnel manager, tail walker, first timers’ brief, run report writer, course pack away, number checker, etc.
We are a friendly core team and actively welcome volunteers of all ages, sporty or not. We generally end up in the Hope and Anchor afterwards for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.
Commitment doesn’t have to be significant, and one can sign up for any week by visiting our volunteer page – https://www.parkrun.org.uk/watermeadcountrypark/futureroster/
