We have several well established small lunch groups for elderly people who may be isolated or housebound. We are looking for more volunteers to help support serving food and drinks, chatting and making members to feel welcome and supporting activities such as bingo, quizes and games

About this role

We are looking for people who want to volunteer on a regular basis for a couple of hours once a week or twice a month(depending on which group you help). If you are a people person and like to have a chat with others this could be the opportunity for you. Our volunteers welcome our elderly members into the centre, provide them with a hot drink and serve them a hot meal (which we have delivered so no cooking involved). Some of our members may need support to join in and play games such as bingo, dominoes or quizes as some may have a sight or hearing impairment. Our groups are on a Thursday and Friday based in Syston.
