About this role
The role is to help serve the dinner, collecting dirty plates, washing up and making hot drinks. We have a maximum of 46 people attend each week. Those who come tend to be older people who can be quite lonely, so we try to take time to chat with our guests too. Making people feel welcome is a key part of the role. There may be opportunity to sit alongside whilst they take part in an activity, like a quiz or craft or on occasion an outside entertainer may come in. The volunteer role is on Tuesdays from 12noon-3.30pm, but you can choose to come weekly or fortnightly so long as we know in advance. You will be joining a team of about 4-5 other volunteers and our cook.
