About this role

What we need?

There are so many things you can offer. Keeping the place clean and tidy is one thing but you may also have other skills which could be really useful at the centre.

Listening and engaging is the main priority for volunteers currently. We are looking for people who can be empathetic and friendly to new and old members, offer a listening ear, be proactive in including nervous members, and keeping the conversations inclusive and open.

What we expect from volunteers?

Our aim for Pepper’s is for everyone to feel welcome and at ease. We hope that volunteers will come and offer a listening ear to our members, chat and help break the cycle of isolation. We are not a counselling service; volunteers are there to help provide a warm and welcoming social space.

For every session we aim to have at least three volunteers. There is no pressure to come every week, although a regular slot does help us with our planning! Just let us know what suits you.
