About this role

Our junior parkrun is a weekly, timed 2km run or walk around beautiful Play Close Park in the centre of Melton Mowbray.  The start is close to a number of car parks that are free on a Sunday.

Volunteer roles include – marshal, handing out finish tokens, timekeeper, barcode scanner, funnel manager, tail walker, first timers’ welcome, warm-up leader, course set-up/pack way, etc.

We are a friendly core team and actively welcome volunteers of all ages, sporty or not.  Once the cafe in the park has been renovated, we hope to use that as a social hub afterwards for a cup of coffee and a chat.

Commitment doesn’t have to be regular.  Just email in to playcloseparkjuniors@parkrun.com if you have availability for a particular Sunday.

This is an outdoor activity.  Whilst the event starts at 9am, the volunteer commitment is 8:40-9:30am.
