About this role
With many visitors to all our building 7 days a week, our team of Housekeepers does a truly amazing job ensuring every area is clean, tidy and welcoming to everyone, as well as maintaining infection control standards. You could be part of this team right across the hospice with 14 bedrooms, 4 family flats, a conference centre, swimming pool area, therapy/activity rooms, lounges, social areas, bathrooms/toilet facilities and a dining room to take pride in on top of the offices and welcoming main entrance.
Will it suit me?
If you have previous cleaning experience or just enjoy being ‘house proud’ and like to meet a variety of people whenever you are with us, this volunteer role is a great fit. We ask that you offer your time and your friendly personality for 2-3 hours on a regular basis on any day of the week to suit you between 9am-5pm Monday to Sunday.
Typical tasks the work could involve:
-
- Vacuuming
-
- Polishing and dusting
-
- Emptying bins
-
- Mopping floors
-
- Clearing crockery
-
- Wiping down surfaces
-
- General cleaning of offices and lounges
-
- Some assistance with laundry and ironing
This is a practical role, requiring you to be comfortable with being on your feet for long periods. We do not need you to bring anything apart from your willingness and enthusiasm. Helping with housekeeping is a great way to experience life at Rainbows and gain a greater understanding of the work that we do.
