About the organisation:

Welcome to St Joseph’s Rural Centre, an inclusive retreat located at the heart of the National Forest in Leicestershire. The centre sits adjacent to Mount St Bernard Abbey, a Cistercian Monastery, amidst the beautiful Charnwood Forest. The centre hosts St Joseph’s Tearoom, a shop and deli filled with delicious locally sourced food and drink, Friends of St Joseph’s, a wellbeing and support hub, Cairn Crafts, and a gift shop.

Full Details:

This role will include some shadowing of the Head Gardener as well as working through a number of basic garden maintenance tasks.

Training will be provided.

Please bring your preferred gardening gloves and suitable footwear – closed toes such as shoes or boots.

As working outside, please also dress appropriately for the weather and terrain.

Closed on Mondays

Specific Requirements or Restrictions

Volunteers should be aged over 16 years. As with the Cafe support opportunity, volunteers are welcome to arrange to meet with the volunteer co-ordinator to discuss access requirements such as volunteering with their support worker / parent / guardian.
