About this role
You will be part of a small team. Facilitated by a Fundraising Manager, you will plan out a range of fun events or activities and deliver these across the county. We will meet online or in person, plan the activity and then implement the actions needed to make it happen. We work as a team. Events and activities will be supported by other FreeVA staff members and will also link to the Marketing & Engagement Officer who will support events with PR, social media coverage and other aspects of marketing. In return, FreeVA will provide a structured volunteering opportunity, a chance to work for a domestic & sexual violence specialist organisation (you may wish to move across into the volunteering support side in due course) and to put fun into fundraising through your achievements of arranging a series of events & activities which appeal to the public. All funds raised go back into the delivery of support services in order to increase our capacity to reach more survivors/victims of crime and to support our perpetrator programme for those who want to change their behaviour. We will need you to complete an application form, send references and we will sort our foundation e-learning package, an conduct an induction and provide an introduction to FreeVA’s fundraising approach. We will most likely connect online as a team and arrange suitable times to meet up. Events are most likely to occur at night or weekends but not exclusively so.

If you are working as part of the FreeVA fundraising team, you will need to be an adult as age affects our insurances. If you are wanting to raise funds for FreeVA independently then we appreciate that as well. As the team do not work with clients, we do not require DBS checks however we need you to be willing to do so. We do not necessarily require people who can drive but it may be useful to have some drivers within our Fundraising team as we need to carry boxes, merchandise and items to events on occasions. We can accept ex offenders as long as the issues do not relate to the purpose of FreeVA i.e., domestic or sexual violence unless you are on or have completed one of our programmes or financial issues.
