About this role
Many people who ask us for help are looking for assistance in completing forms on their behalf – these may be online forms or paper versions. Common requests are for help with Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Disability Allowances (DLA) and Attendance Allowance. It could also involve applications for blue badge parking and bus passes.
We are looking for volunteers willing to help clients to complete these forms, being sensitive to the needs of the client and ensuring that the forms are completed accurately, completely and on time.
Training can be given on how the forms need to be completed and equipment to either complete online or on paper.
The role will include meeting and greeting the client, ensuring that all the required information is available, completing the form with the client, and ensuring the form is submitted.
We offer this service across all our three locations, Blaby Road South Wigston, Trinity Church Oadby (Tuesdays) and Wigston URC (Thursdays)

Requirements
- Willing to take a DBS Check
This role does require patience and sensitivity. You would be dealing with very personal information and therefore we will require a DBS check to be carried out for any successful candidate.
Sometimes the client will be emotional about their situation
It is very rewarding however as it provides an opportunity for the client to share their concerns and difficulties. It also helps improve the success of an application which will be a significant part of the client beginning to take back control of their lives
