About this role
Alice Hawkins Community Projects is a friendly, welcoming organisation, created by local volunteers during the first lockdown to support the needs of our community.
We are looking for volunteers who could commit to join our amazing bank of regular volunteers.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to carry out a number of activities to ensure the foodbank runs successfully, roles will include: Willing to learn how to greet our members, help distribute food, use your own transport to help us collect, receive and deliver donated food. Lifting abilities would be welcome but not essential. Having the use of a car would also be welcome but not essential.
The role includes:
Availability on a Friday between 11:30 – 12:30 to collect and deliver about 6 food parcels to members of our community who cannot make it to our open Saturday session.
Collect donated food from our network of suppliers.
Volunteering opportunities at our main volunteering days:
Friday (9am – 1pm) to receive deliveries, make up food parcels to go out and prepare for our open Saturday session.
Saturday (10am – 1pm) to greet our members, distribute food, undertake other tasks as required and help us clear everything away.

Requirements
- Access to a vehicle
- Driving license
- Willing to take a DBS Check
Use of a car (taxed, insured, MOTd and roadworthy) or other suitable vehicle
Willing to take a DBS check
