About this role
Our reception volunteers play a significant role in making The Bridge a warm and welcoming space for people experiencing homelessness. With the help of our incredible and dedicated volunteers, we are able to offer a frontline service at a minimal cost, as well as provide opportunities for our volunteers to gain experience.
In the reception area, volunteers:
- help to establish a warm and welcoming environment for all guests.
- greet and sign in guests.
- retrieve clothing and toiletries for guests.
- chat to guests and offer a listening ear.
- liaise with the staff team, to ensure guests can access the right support.
No experience necessary, all training will be provided. However, we are looking with volunteers with the following personal qualities:
- friendly and patient.
- empathetic
- strong listening and communication skills.
- reliable
- willing to work within guidelines and follow confidentiality policies.
