Volunteers needed to unleash creativity for a worthy cause!
SoundCafe Leicester’s Creative Cafe enables our guests to explore their creativity through writing, arts and crafts. They can also enjoy a hot drink and cake!!
SoundCafe Choir uses music and singing to enable and empower our guests to find their voice. Are you passionate about music and its power to bring people together? Join our choir volunteer team and let your voice be a force for positive change!
Our guests’ may be homeless, previously homeless, at risk of homelessness or socially isolated/vulnerable by the nature of their living conditions.
Our volunteers support our guests by coming alongside them in an informal and safe setting. Samaritan volunteers are also present should any of our guests need someone to talk to.
We are looking for volunteers who:
*enjoy arts and crafts
*have an interest in creative writing
*are able to motivate and support our guests through their writing
*have good communication skills
*enjoy a laugh or two
*can provide a listening ear in a supportive setting
*support to our guests to enable them to fully engage in the choir
Our Creative Café and Choir runs each Monday during term time from 12.45-3.15pm. We are based at St Mary de Castro Church, Castle View, Leicester, LE1 5WN.
Volunteers have the opportunity to attend the whole session 12.30-3.15pm or can volunteer for either Creative Café from 12.30-2.15pm or Choir 2.15-3.15pm.

Requirements
- References needed
- Willing to take a DBS Check
- Age restrictions
No previous experience is required. An interest in creative activities and singing would be an advantage, though not essential.
Volunteers must be 18+yrs.
Volunteers arrive for 12.30pm and leave by 3.15pm after the session finishes.
