Conservation Volunteer Officer
Place: Leicestershire & Rutland

We’re looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for conservation and supporting others, who are looking to gain experience in the environmental sector. Our Leicestershire & Rutland Team work with district bodies, utility companies, public authorities and landowners on projects which range from wildflower meadow management, wetland conservation, tree planting to hedge laying and rural site management. Our Leicestershire & Rutland Team comprises of an array of people, with well honed skills and experience, and as a Volunteer Officer you’ll help everyone feel supported, included, and able to develop their full potential. In this role you’ll be supported to develop you own leadership and project management skills, working alongside award-winning project staff.

All tools, materials and safety equipment will be provided, and reasonable travel expenses can be covered. As a Volunteer Officer you are a valued part of the established, friendly Leicestershire & Rutland Team, but the wider Central & Midlands Team.

How much time:
Conservation Volunteer Officers volunteer for two to four days a week, Tuesday to Friday

Requirements

  • Driving license
  • References needed
  • Willing to take a DBS Check

Commitment, enthusiasm and a passion for working with others in any outdoors setting are the main things we ask for in our Conservation Volunteer Officers. We welcome applications from people just starting out or in the process of changing their careers, as well as people with practical conservation experience. For this role we ask for a regular time commitment of a minimum of two days a week, Tuesday to Friday. Where roles will be responsible for others, we need to check your references. When the role involves young people and vulnerable adults, we will need to ask for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, the cost of which will be covered by TCV
