Volunteer Complementary Therapist/s
SYCS is a local independent charity based in the West End of Leicester. We provide emotional and practical support for patients, their friends, families, and carers. Our services include Counselling, Complementary Therapies, Activities and Support Groups.

SYCS are currently looking for Volunteer Complementary Therapists to provide treatments to our service users, creating a safe space for them to have some much needed ‘me’ time. We are looking for caring, dedicated individuals to join our growing team of Complementary Therapists, applicants should be happy, compassionate, caring and client focussed individuals who find it easy to work as a team.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and need to provide 2X references.
Job Description
SYCS are looking for all types of therapists including massage, reiki, reflexology, aromatherapy, scar therapy, Indian head massage and more.
Responsible to: Lead Complementary Therapist.
Hours: Minimum of 2 hours per week.
Duties include:
Assessing the needs of the client and adapting the treatment to their individual requirements.
Working as part of a small multidisciplinary team.
Keeping client paperwork up to date.
Attending team meetings.
Person specification:
Essential-
Up-to-Date Public and liability insurance.
Up-to-date membership to a professional association.
Up-to-date practice of their chosen therapy.
Commitment of 2 hours per week.
Desirable-
Experience working with clients suffering with cancer/have done a palliative/cancer care course.
