About this role

Alice Hawkins Community Projects is a friendly, welcoming organisation, created by local volunteers during the first lockdown to support the needs of our community.

We are looking for volunteers who could commit to join our amazing bank of regular volunteers.

For this very specific role we need volunteers to help raise the awareness of our organisation. Communicate with local residents, local shops & businesses. Production & distribution of leaflets & news letters, raise funds etc.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to carry out a number of activities to ensure we raise the awareness of our organisation within the local community. This role includes:

Organising the production and distribution of leaflets and regular newsletters to the local community.

Help produce a new “Volunteers Card” which can be used in local shops & businesses to receive discounts & to help our volunteers raise awareness of our organisation.

Having the use of a car would also be welcome but not essential.

Our main volunteering days are:

Friday (9am-1pm) to receive deliveries, make up food parcels and prepare for our Saturday open session.

Saturday (10am-1pm) to greet our members and distribute food.

This role can be carried out either at the same time as our main volunteering days or at a time & date that best suits yourself.

Requirements

  • Willing to take a DBS Check

Basic knowledge of using Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and email.
Good written and spoken communications.
Good customer service skills
Enthusiasm to be part of a team to help our community.

We ask our supervisory volunteers to take DBS checks as they are supervising other volunteers which may include under 18s.
