About this role

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on various topics related to childhood sexual abuse, including its psychological, emotional, and social impacts, available treatments, and emerging research.
  • Collect and analyse data from reputable sources, academic journals, and other relevant publications to gather evidence and insights that support our mission.
  • Integrate complex information into clear and concise summaries, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Advocacy and Awareness:

  • Collaborate with Quetzal’s team to develop advocacy campaigns, initiatives, and educational materials focused on raising awareness about childhood sexual abuse and its impacts.
  • Assist in organising events, workshops, and community outreach programs to promote understanding, empathy, and support for survivors.
  • Share research findings through various mediums, such as blog posts, social media content, and newsletters, to engage our community and increase public knowledge.
  • Collaborative Partnerships:
    Establish connections with external organizations, researchers, and professionals working in the field of childhood sexual abuse to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and stay updated on current trends and advancements.
  • Represent Quetzal at relevant conferences, seminars, and networking events to expand our network and advocate for improved policies and resources.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay informed about recent developments, best practices, and ethical guidelines in research and advocacy related to survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings to enhance your understanding of the subject matter and develop relevant skills

Role Requirements:

  • Keen interest in issues affecting women
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy, sensitivity, and respect for the experiences of survivors.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in research, advocacy, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
