We want to hear from children and young people who have something to say about the services that they use. If you are under 25, why not consider becoming a member of Young Healthwatch?

Your Healthwatch can keep you informed about what is happening locally in health and social care that may be of interest and you can have your say!

About the organisation:

Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire is your local health and social care champion. From Belgrave to Belvoir and everywhere in between, we make sure NHS leaders and other decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care.

Full Details:

To help HWLL ensure that it listens and learns from the voice and experience of children and young people.

You will be part of HWLL Youthwatch, a young people’s group that will help HWLL by:
• Helping to influence our work that aims to make health and social care services better for children and young people.
• Being involved in projects to gather views about children and young people’s experiences of health and social care services.
• Helping to advise HWLL and other services on how they can be more ‘child and young people friendly’.
• Acting as a role model for young people’s involvement by helping us talk to and listen to young people.

When and Where:

Meetings will be held online or in Leicester or Leicestershire.

Youthwatch will meet at least once every eight weeks. Meetings will be held outside school/ college hours e.g. Evenings, weekends or during school holidays. There will be opportunities to volunteer in other activities between meetings.

Specific Requirements or Restrictions

• Be aged 14-25 and live in the Leicester or Leicestershire. • Be patient and a good listener. • Able to challenge and disagree without being confrontational. • Be able to work as part of a team with other young people. • Agree to the HWLL Code of Conduct. • Able to represent the views and experiences of others, not just your own. • Experience of having accepted responsibility and seeing things through. • Interested in people. • Personal experience of accessing different health and social care services would be useful.
