About this role
Age UK Book and Vintage shop on Queens Road are looking for volunteer retail assistants to help on a variety of days and shifts. It would be helpful if candidates had an interest or good knowledge of books. The ability to use your own initiative and work unsupervised as requested.
General skills required are :
Serving customers at the till, cash handling and card payments
Assisting customers find specific items
Keeping stock displays replenished and organised
Maintaining vigilance to prevent thefts

Requirements
- References needed
Previous experience in a retail would be helpful but not essential as training will be given.
A friendly attitude with customers is essential
Willingness to familiarize yourself with the stock on offer, including vintage items and books desired
Ability to use your own initiative and work unsupervised as required
