About this role
VALUES believes in providing fun, friendly and productive activities for individuals with learning difficulties and as part of this VALUES run a weekly session in Leicester City Centre. The Out and About group offers individuals the opportunity to go around Leicester and the local area, taking part in different activities including: pool, visiting museums, looking round the shops, going for a tea/coffee, and making new friends. This is an ideal role for someone looking for meaningful and rewarding voluntary work with an additional interest in community activities.
The role will involve working with small groups of individuals and supporting and supervising them at the weekly session which involves a variety of activities, chosen by the group on the day. Volunteers supporting the interest groups will be supported by a VALUES support worker.
Individuals would need to be comfortable supervising and leading groups, as the role requires a certain level of self-sufficiency.
Sessions run Thursday 11 – 2 and Thursday 2 – 4, while there is scope to recruit a seperate volunteer for each session, each volunteer would need to commit to the same session each week.
