Full Details:

The Tigers Explorer Scout Unit, part of Leicester South East District, is excited to be launching a new Thursday evening section to meet growing interest from young people aged 14–18.

Based at the well-established 9th Leicester Scout HQ in Stoneygate, this additional evening will offer opportunities for Explorers to build confidence, independence, and leadership skills through adventurous activities, life skills, and teamwork.

We’re now looking for volunteers to help get this new evening off the ground! You’ll help lead or assist in planning and delivering engaging weekly programmes and support young people to work toward their awards and badges.

No previous experience is needed – just a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to support older young people.

You’ll receive:

Full training in Safeguarding, First Aid, and supporting youth-led programmes

A free enhanced DBS check

Ongoing support from the Explorer leadership team and District

This is a great opportunity for anyone passionate about youth empowerment, including university students, professionals, or past Scouts wanting to give back.

When and Where:

Thursdays (exact start date to be confirmed)
Evenings – approx. 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (flexible based on volunteer team)

Volunteers must be aged 18+ and complete a free enhanced DBS check. Full training is provided in safeguarding, First Aid, and youth engagement. Support and mentoring available.
