The 9th Leicester Scout Group, founded in 1909, has proudly offered continuous Scouting in South East Leicester — even through the war years! Based at our historic HQ, Croft Hall, 58 Stoughton Road, Stoneygate, we currently run active Cub and Scout sections, and we’re looking for volunteers to join our team.
We need:
🐾 Cub Leaders (ages 8–10½)
⚜️ Scout Leaders (ages 10½–14)
🦫 Beaver Leaders to help us reopen our closed Beaver Colony (ages 6–8)
Volunteering involves leading or assisting with activities, games, badgework, and trips. You’ll be supported by a friendly team and receive:
Full training in First Aid, Safeguarding, and working with young people
A free enhanced DBS check
Mentoring and flexibility
You don’t need previous experience — just a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to help young people thrive. Whether you want to support one evening a week or help bring back our Beaver section, we’d love to welcome you.

Help us relaunch Beavers (6–8) on a night that suits the team
We welcome both weekly and flexible volunteers.

Our funders ask us to report on the age, gender, ethnicity and location of volunteers who use our service. All reporting is anonymous.
