About the organisation:

We work in partnership with FareShare UK, to rescue good quality surplus food which would otherwise go to waste. We channel this surplus food to frontline charities all over the Midlands, reaching more than 83,000 people every week. Surplus food from across the industry arrives into our warehouses, where it is sorted and stored by 70+ dedicated staff and 300+ passionate volunteers. The supplies are distributed to around 800 charities and community groups across the Midlands – our Community Food Members. These Members turn the food into food parcels, affordable shopping and nutritious meals. As well as food, our members provide other vital services to people facing challenging circumstances and living in poverty or food insecurity. Our volunteers provide priceless support with driving the vans, helping to sort and store food in our warehouses, and performing administrative tasks in the offices. Whatever you’re doing, as a FareShare Midlands volunteer you are getting our good-to-eat surplus food to where it’s truly needed.
