About this role

We are on the hunt for new volunteer controllers!

Working from home, the controller is the first point of contact for the hospital teams. They make calls to arrange collections and deliveries with our emergency services and blood bikers/drivers, acting as the coordinator.

A controller works as a ‘buddy’ to those on shift and provides a point of contact for them in event of any vehicle breakdown, or incident and most importantly a friendly, encouraging voice at the end of the phone during the shift!

To be a controller you will need to have a clear and confident phone manner, be able to use online systems, and to record and relay the instructions from the hospital to our duty rider or driver.

Shift cover is on a self-booking rota basis and we operate seven days a week; Monday to Friday 6pm – 6am and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 24 hours a day. Each shift is approximately 12 hours duration.

We will provide full training on our systems and procedures.
