About the organisation:

Equality Action is a registered charity set up in 1969 to help individuals and groups of people from all backgrounds who may be disadvantaged and facing barriers to access services and support. Our services are designed to achieve community cohesion, integration, and work towards empowering disadvantaged communities. They range from offering expert advice and help accessing support for debt, welfare benefits, housing as well as immigration and more. We also run several funded projects to help improve health and wellbeing; promote diversity, equality, social interaction, as well as opportunities to learn new life skills and encourage inclusion across different communities. We have a board of 8 trustees and a team of 10 staff. We are seeking new trustees to join our board. More information on our website and social media www.equalityaction.org.uk

Full Details:

Equality Action is looking for committed and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our strategic direction, ensuring good governance and helping us continue delivering meaningful change through projects focused on health, wellbeing, advice and inclusion.

We’re particularly keen to hear from people with experience in finance, fundraising, communications, governance or local community work. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a small but impactful charity with a 50+ year history of supporting local people.

You’ll be working alongside a passionate team of staff and fellow trustees who share a commitment to social justice and equality. Full training and support is provided.

When and Where:

Trustee meetings take place every two months with dates agreed in advance, typically in person at our offices in Loughborough. Additional involvement in sub-groups, strategy planning or events is welcomed but flexible around your availability.

This is a voluntary, unpaid role with plenty of personal and professional development opportunities and the chance to be part of a close-knit, purpose-driven team.
