Overview:

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a heart for helping those with Mental Health and Housing challenges? Norton Housing and Support is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our Board of Trustees!

We are looking for individuals who share our passion and values and have a range of skills and experiences to bring to our Board. Whether you have current and relevant expertise in; charity finance, construction or employment law, fundraising/income generating, adult social care or mental health services, your insights will be invaluable in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring the sustainability of our services.

About the organisation:

Norton Housing and Support (NH&S) is a Leicester based charity and small housing association which provides supported accommodation for people with mental health needs and/or a learning disability or from other vulnerable groups including homeless young women. We are proud of the positive feedback we receive from people who use our services, and of our excellent reputation within the local voluntary sector and with funders, referrers and our statutory sector partners.

Full Details:

Key Responsibilities:
– Attend regular 6/7 weekly board meetings and contribute to key discussions (either at our Leicester office or online).
– Help set and review the charity’s strategic aims and objectives.
– Ensure that Norton Housing and Support operates within its legal and regulatory framework.
– Support and challenge the executive team to drive effective governance.
– Advocate for the charity within the community and help raise awareness of the organisation’s work.

When and Where:

Our Trustees come from diverse backgrounds, but we want to continue to increase the diversity of the Board and ensure it reflects the varied communities of Leicester and Leicestershire.
