Overview:

Your local rivers charity, Trent Rivers Trust, are looking for river champions to test water quality and monitor river changes in the WillowBrook catchment in Leicester.
Develop skills on testing water quality and become part of the local community surveying the Willow, Evington, Scraptoft and Bushby brooks for river health.

At Trent Rivers Trust, we help rivers return to their natural, healthy state. When they thrive, communities and wildlife will, too. To achieve this, we work in partnership with organisations and local communities. We work across the whole of the River Trent catchment including Leicester and Leicestershire.

Full Details:

The work will involve:
Testing monthly water samples
Recording your results on an app
Reporting any pollution incidents
Monitoring river changes through fixed point photography
Training and support will be provided.
No previous experience expected.

When and Where:

We are looking to take and record samples from the water monthly. The exact locations will be confirmed when volunteers are recruited, but we are sampling the Evington, Scraptoft, Bushby and Willow brooks to the East of Leicester

This will require the ability to access the banks of the brooks which can be uneven and muddy underfoot.
