About this role

We already have an amazing team of around 12+ volunteers some that have been with us for 45+ years but we would like to extend our volunteer family. You will be supported by our Leader and deputy leader and given relevant training and checks for example safe guarding and DBS. No volunteers are involved in the intimate care of the children and the main role of our volunteers are to play and interact with the children, the higher ratio of volunteers the better care in our eyes. We are looking preferably for someone with experience of working with children or adults with disabilities or maybe someone that is doing relevant training (childcare qualification). This being said all applicants will be considered. We work inside a church hall so we have to set up and pack away at the end of each session so it can be quite a physical role but very rewarding at the same time. Set up starts at 9 and pack up finishes around 12:45 Monday and Friday mornings but some of our volunteers only do the children’s hours which is 10-11:55. We are advertising for either days or both.

When you can volunteer

  • Willing to take a DBS Check

As mentioned all volunteers have to have a DBS for the playgroup and undertake a safeguarding course.
