About this role

What are they looking for?

To work with the team on the social media and web management aspects of our marketing and communication approach, under the guidance of the CEO

·       To assess, review and upload new content on to our website;

·       To respond positively to messages and posts to all the Trusts social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter;

·       To positively contribute to the trusts approach to developing our Social Media and Website profile;

·       To schedule regular updates on our website, Facebook and Twitter to promote the activities, events and profile of the trust;

·       To engage with volunteers, staff, supporters, backers and stakeholders.

About the Peter Le Marchant Trust
The Peter Le Marchant Trust has been operating for over 40 years. We provide day trips and holidays on the waterways for people of all ages with any kind of disability or serious illness.
We operate from a unique base including office space, workshop, garden, health & wellbeing garden, wet dock, youth hub and canal mooring. All our boats are disability friendly and are staffed by our team of over 120 dedicated volunteers. We serve over 5,000 people annually and run between April and October seven days a week.

The role is key to the trust developing its local and regional profile and communicating to new audiences.

Practical Considerations
To carry out this job you need to be resourceful and creative, have great copywriting skills, excellent grasp of English, good problem-solving skills, and can communicate the aims and vision of the Trust.

Experience in using social media and building web content is essential.

It is estimated that candidates will spend a minimum of 3-6 hours per week working on their role; this may go up considerably in the run up to key Trust events.

Training & Support:
Training will be provided, and we will give you all the information required to aid you in your volunteering role. We will also explain any paper work requirements, expenses policy and ongoing volunteer support.
