As a Social Media Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping us engage the community, promote events, share sustainable living tips, and raise awareness of environmental issues through our digital platforms. Your creativity and communication skills will help grow our online presence and inspire more people to take part in eco-friendly initiatives.

About the organisation:

Charnwood Eco Hub is a not-for-profit, shared community hub based in Loughborough. Our aim is to provide a space to meet, make, fix, create and share sustainable ideas and resources.

Full Details:

Key Responsibilities

• Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.)
• Design graphics, write captions, and source images aligned with our brand and mission
• Promote upcoming events, workshops, and campaigns
• Monitor social media channels for comments and messages, and respond appropriately
• Help grow and engage our online audience by encouraging interaction and sharing
• Track engagement and provide occasional feedback or reports
• Stay up-to-date with social media trends and recommend new ideas or tools
• Collaborate with other volunteers and team members as needed

Skills & Experience (Desirable, but not essential)

• Passion for sustainability, environmental issues, and community action
• Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Basic graphic design (e.g., Canva) or content creation experience
• Organised and able to work independently
• Experience using scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite) is a plus
