One Roof Leicester Winter Night Shelter

About this Opportunity

Overview:

The Winter Night Shelter will be running from 1st December until 31st March in the city centre.

Organisation:

One Roof Leicester

Address:

Volunteers will be informed of this once they indicate interest.

Location:

Onsite

About the organisation:

We provide temporary accommodation and support in shared houses to single adults experiencing homelessness in Leicester. During the winter months, we also create additional provision; this year this takes the form of the Winter Night Shelter from 1st December until 31st March. The individuals we support include UK nationals, EU migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

Full Details:

We are looking for volunteers to help us at the Winter Night Shelter to cover both evening and overnight shifts (during overnight shifts, two volunteers will take it turns to sleep while a paid worker stays awake all night). We use an online system so that volunteers choose and sign up for the shifts that are convenient for them. We do not require volunteers to choose a minimum number of shifts – we want volunteering to fit in with the rest of your life.

When and Where:

This opportunity will take place at a city centre location
