Loughborough Pride is happening on the 16th of August! On the day of the event, we will require some help in Queen’s Park, to set up the event and provide any support to attendees.

Please note, we won’t ask for volunteers to be present during the whole day of the Pride, but we would be grateful for people to be present for at least one shift (2 hours each). People can then pick up multiple shifts if they like and stay as much as they want).

About the organisation:

Loughborough Pride is responsible for organising the annual Pride celebrations of Loughborough! Loughborough Pride 2025 builds on the success of our inaugural Pride event in 2024, which attracted 2,000 visitors and received overwhelmingly positive feedback – it generated enormous and positive Press coverage which was seen and read by over 39.4 million people across 102 pieces of coverage – an enormous achievement. As it is the second year of Loughborough Pride existing, we welcome anyone willing to help running the Pride event. You don’t need any experience, but just passion and interest in helping our local LGBT+ community! 

All volunteering roles require you to get involved with a variety of tasks from helping with organising the Loughborough Pride events to supporting the Loughborough Pride Committee members, but the main responsibilities are:

To be present and support events and activities taking place on the day of the Loughborough Pride 2025 (16/08/2025).

Provide help with organising events that are accessible and representative of the LGBT+ Community of Loughborough.
Ensure all behaviour at events is inclusive and intersectional. Be approachable for anybody who needs advice, signposting or support.
To work closely and support the other volunteers and Committee members of Loughborough Pride.
Attend volunteer meetings and relevant training, to reply at Loughborough Pride groupchat messages/emails when needed.

Role-specific responsibilities:
Pride Decorators: to help with set up and set down of the Loughborough Pride location in Queens Park on the 16 of August 2025. To help with decorating the location of Loughborough Pride. Possible help with organising crafty events during the Pride.

Pride Makers: to help with set up and set down of the Loughborough Pride location in Queens Park on the 16 of August 2025. To help with installing signage, barriers, moving equipment and setting up activities. Can help with organising crafty events during the Pride.

Pride Litter pickers: to help with maintaining the park clean, to pick up any rubbish and store it in trash bags during the day of pride.
Pride Stewards: to look after pride attendees and help by providing directions, to offer guidance on entrances, exits and any points of interests inside of Queens Park.

At Loughborough, on the 16th of August 2025. (Any relevant training will be offered in July.
