About this role
VALUES believes in providing fun, friendly and productive activities for individuals with learning difficulties and as part of this VALUES run a Home and Life skills activity.
Volunteers are being sought to help support these sessions and the individuals who attend them. This is an ideal role for someone looking for meaningful and rewarding voluntary work with an additional interest in or passion for: cooking, cleaning, life skills, money skills, independent living.
The role will involve working with small groups of individuals, supporting and supervising them in the weekly session which focuses on giving the group a chance to undertake a range of activities related to becoming more independent in the home and learning new skills.
Volunteers supporting the interest groups will be supported by a VALUES support worker.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident and experienced in dealing with people. Experience of dealing with individuals with learning disabilities would be advantageous. Additionally some basic experience or an in interest in various home and life skills would be beneficial.
Individuals would need to be comfortable supervising and leading groups, as the role requires a certain level of self-sufficiency.
The session runs on a Monday 1-4pm, and we would ask that you are able to commit to the session every week.
