About this role
Leicester City Children and Young People’s Justice Service (CYPJS) is committed to offering a service to young people and their families, victims and communities, which is based on fairness, respect and mutual responsibility.
We work to prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people under the age of 18, and to ensure that custody of them is safe, secure and addresses the causes of their offending behaviour.
Leicester City Children and Young People’s Justice Service (CYPJS) are recruiting for volunteers to work with young people aged 10-18.
Volunteering work includes:
Community Panel Member: Help to lead meetings in the community with the young person, their family and the victim of their crime to explore the offence and put a plan in place to stop it happening again.
Future Volunteering work will be available to those that excel within the panel member role. This will include becoming a Youth Justice Mentors: One-to-one mentoring support for young people who are in the early stages of offending behaviour.
These opportunities are very rewarding and are integral to the work that the CYPJS cover.
All prospective volunteers will be fully trained and supported throughout the time with the service.
The closing date for the Application form is 4th March 2024 , with Interviews taking places virtually the week commencing(wc) the 11th Feb . Please also note Mandatory Training is planned for Mid March 2024 and will be combination of virtual and face to face training.
