Leicester Cathedral has benefitted from a major restoration and awaits the opening of a new Heritage Learning Centre, offering exhibition and learning space. It is looking to recruit welcomers to help ensure visitors make the most of their visit to the Cathedral.

About this role

On of the key roles within the Leicester Cathedral Visitor Experience team is that of welcomer.

Welcomers are based in the Cathedral, where they engage with visitors, share their knowledge of the Cathedral and ensure they have an enjoyable experience.

Shifts are two hour in duration and can be on any day of the week. Applicants are not tied to a weekly obligation and can chose a shift of any other pattern.

Requirements

  • References needed
  • Age restrictions

Applicants must be friendly, approachable, willing to learn basic facts about the Cathedral and have good communication skills. They also need to be able to work in a small team.

All successful candidates will be trained to the appropriate standard and supported through their volunteering journey.
