About this role
At Invent we fully support the role of volunteers in the organisation and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. We are flexible with working patterns and will try our best to accommodate volunteers respecting their life commitments and availability.
An Invent volunteer would start their day at 9:00 a.m. and usually finish the day at 14:30 Monday to Friday. Volunteers can choose what days are the most convenient for them but we ask that they commit to at least one working day a week. The role of a volunteer with Invent can include classroom support, 1-1 mentoring, accompanying students and staff on visits, trips, events and activities etc. Invent recognise that professional qualifications and experience are important. However, a genuine enthusiasm for young people and the willingness to apply patience and understanding to the role is paramount. Therefore, some experience of working with students with special educational needs and/or challenging behaviour is desirable but is not essential. There is the opportunity to choose from two geographical areas of Leicestershire, our Markfield School Provision or our Wigston School Provision as well as the post 16 provision in Wigston.
The Invent Staff Team come from all backgrounds and experiences from teaching, social work, youth work, teaching support, University students and volunteers.
