Would you like to make a difference to hospital patients? We are looking for volunteers to support our mobile patient library service, delivering books and magazines to ward patients at Leicester General Hospital.

About the organisation:

Join our team of over 300 volunteers, making a difference to patients at Leicester’s Hospitals. We know that no one wants to be in hospital, so UHL’s volunteers are there to offer extra support to make patients’ visits more comfortable. From sitting with a patient who is lonely, to giving someone directions to their appointment, every volunteer makes a difference through these small acts of kindness.

Full Details:

You will be part of a small team, pushing a book trolley ward-to-ward and offering patients boredom-busting books, magazines, newspapers and activity packs.

When and Where:

Wednesdays, 1-4pm

Specific Requirements or Restrictions

We are looking for people who: – Would like to make a difference to hospital patients – Are friendly and good at talking to people – Are willing to undertake a DBS check – Are aged 16 or above – Can commit to a weekly volunteering session for at least 6 months – Are physically able to push the library trolley (with other volunteers)
