About this role
Health+ aims to support patient access to primary care. This is achieved by supporting patients on a one to one basis to register for and use the NHS App and other GP online services. This one to one support will primarily take place in a GP surgery and each support session will generally have a duration of 1 hour including time for the completion of a short evaluation form. Booking slots are timetabled to be in sets of 3 x 1 hour sessions.
All Health+ Digital Health companions will:
- Commit to the training and shadowing opportunities offered for this role.
- Attend monthly Health+ digital companion meetings.
- Complete an evaluation form following each digital session with a patient.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient’s personal information in line with Reaching People’s policies and procedures.
- Report any concerns to the project manager of Health+.

Requirements

- Age restrictions
Confidence to navigate and understand digital health applications.
A desire to support patients to access health services.
A good communicator who can communicate computing terms to absolute beginners clearly and with patience.
An interest in learning about new subjects including health applications used by GP surgeries.
A sociable, caring and understanding manner.
An ability to identify, work through and solve digital problems.
A commitment to support patients at the agreed Health+ digital surgery times.
You will need to provide two references and complete a DBS check.
You will need to be 18+.
You must be willing to commute to local organisations and GP surgeries in your area.
You will need to be available for at least 3 hours per week.
Have some flexibility around availability.
Commit to this project for at least 3 months.
