Grants and Fundraising Officer

About this Opportunity

Overview:

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to the sustainability of the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS). As a Grants and Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in securing the funding needed to support the organisation’s life-saving emergency care work.
The role involves researching funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other bodies, and preparing clear, compelling grant applications that highlight the impact of EMICS’s services. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to gather information, evidence, and case studies to strengthen funding bids, ensuring all submissions are accurate, timely, and aligned with organisational priorities.

About the organisation:

The East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS) is a team of highly trained volunteer doctors who provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care across the East Midlands. Working alongside the NHS ambulance service, EMICS responders bring enhanced clinical skills, equipment, and experience directly to the scene of serious incidents—helping to deliver critical care when every second matters. Our volunteers are on call to attend emergencies such as road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, and other life-threatening situations, offering a higher level of care at the roadside or in challenging environments. As a registered charity, EMICS relies on the dedication of its volunteers and the generosity of public support to continue delivering this vital service to our communities. Get Involved We are currently seeking a dedicated volunteer to support our fundraising activities and grant applications. This role is essential in helping us secure the funding needed to maintain our equipment, training, and operational capabilities. If you are passionate about making a difference and have an interest or experience in fundraising or bid writing, we would love to hear from you.

Full Details:

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support EMICS in continuing its vital work delivering advanced emergency care across the region. As a Grants and Fundraising Officer, you will be instrumental in securing the funding that underpins the organisation’s ability to respond to serious incidents and provide specialist care at the scene.
You will take ownership of identifying and developing funding opportunities, crafting high-quality applications that clearly demonstrate the impact and value of EMICS’s services. By working closely with clinical and operational volunteers, you will gain insight into the organisation’s frontline work and translate this into compelling narratives for funders.
Beyond applications, the role provides the chance to build and maintain relationships with funding organisations, ensuring they are engaged, informed, and confident in the impact of their support. You will also contribute to shaping EMICS’s broader fundraising approach by identifying new opportunities and helping to build a sustainable, long-term income pipeline.
This is an opportunity to develop valuable skills in fundraising, bid writing, and stakeholder engagement within a respected emergency care charity. It is particularly suited to someone who is motivated, organised, and keen to make a tangible difference. Your work will directly enable EMICS to invest in equipment, training, and resources, ultimately helping to save lives and improve patient outcomes across the community.

When and Where:

This role can be carried out flexibly from home, making it accessible and adaptable around other commitments. Much of the work—such as researching funding opportunities, writing grant applications, and preparing reports—can be completed remotely using online resources and communication tools.
While there may be occasional opportunities to engage with the wider EMICS team, the role is primarily home-based, offering the convenience of contributing to a vital emergency care charity from your own environment. This makes it particularly well suited to individuals who are self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently.
