Overview:

Do you have a couple of hours to spare each week? We are looking for volunteers to help run our new Community Fridge in Glen Parva. The Community Fridge will be open from April 2025 at Glen Parva War Memorial Hall (LE2 9JD) and we will require volunteers to be available for 2-3 hours per week on Tuesday afternoons.

About the organisation:

Do you have a couple of hours to spare each week? We are seeking volunteers to help us embed our Community Fridge within the local community. Various roles are available, including drivers to collect donations, and volunteers to manage the running of the fridge.

Full Details:

We are seeking volunteers to help us embed the Community Fridge within the local community. We are looking for:

– Volunteers to help set up and distribute surplus food at the Community Fridge.
– Volunteer drivers to collect foods from local supply partners and distribute surplus after Community Fridge sessions (a full driving licence and vehicle is required, mileage will be reimbursed).

All necessary training will be provided.

When and Where:

Tuesday Afternoons for 2 – 3 hours. The fridge will be open 2:30pm – 4pm, with set up and take down time.

Specific Requirements or Restrictions

A full driving licence is required to help as a driver for the Community Fridge. However, a driving licence is not needed for all volunteering opportunities.
